The issue still exists as of today, even using that tool to properly update everything. I have a PVT2000 with latest firmware and has always worked great. I updated the WiDi software to latest version today, and now I have to enter the security code every single time. I ended up doing system restore back to get back to WIDI software 3.5.41.0 and it works properly again, but unfortunately I can't use the latest WiDi software still.
